Dear Visitors,

I opened this website for the purpose of publishing the articles that I write, and for little else.

I am 5'8", 183lbs with blond hair and blue eyes.  I am a jailhouse lawyer, one of the best.  I've had three aggravated murders reversed for men in here since 1995.  Plus a few other cases.

I have a beautiful wife in the Philippines, and will be moving there permanently if my conviction is reversed.  She is two years younger than I am.  Her ex-husband left her for a younger woman after 15 years of marriage.  She was a Nun in the Catholic Church when she met him.  I wouldn't trade her for my freedom.

I am doing essentially life without parole --at least my parole date is so far in the future (2036), as to be called a "Buck Rogers" date in here.  It exceeds my statistical life expectancy by about 10 years.  On November 22nd, 2002, my appeal from the denial of my Petition for a Writ of Habeas corpus was denied by the federal court of appeals.

Proof that I am innocent, and the transcripts of my trial to be compared with my proof of innocence, were posted on the website of the Innocent Inmates Association of Ohio, Inc. on December 3rd, 2002, after that organization reviewed my case for four months and decided I met their standards of proof of innocence. I was the 27th prisoner whose case they have accepted and published in the past two years.

No laws exist in Ohio or the United States that create a court forum for prisoners who obtain proof of their innocence, after conviction and appeals, where that prisoner can go and have the new evidence heard.

I am in the process of contacting organizations such as Amnesty International, the ACLU, the NAACP, and others, asking if any of them are interested in forming a coalition for the purpose of lobbying Congress and State Legislatures to create laws or a Commission, such as now exists in Great Britain, where prisoners with proof of innocence can have their evidence reviewed, and obtain relief from their wrongful incarcerations.

It is my opinion that no government has a legitimate interest in the "finality" of the conviction of an innocent citizen.  At the present, our government thinks that refusing to even hear prisoners' claims and proof of innocence is somehow acceptable.  I am working to change that, and I could use support from you.  This can be done by you reading my articles to understand the depth of the problem, and then contacting your Governor, State Representatives, Congressional representatives and Senators, asking them to read my articles and respond.

I am a former member of the Top One Percent Society with an I.Q. that places me in the 99.4 percentile worldwide.  A friend of mine from MENSA once said that the difference between persons of average ability and persons of superior intelligence is that we see the world in color while the rest of the world sees it in black & white.

Some of the articles that I have written were written over a years period of time.  They suffer from a degree of redundancy.  I apologize for that and promise to correct that in future articles.

Sit back and look at the justice system from the eyes of a man who can see it in color.  Unfortunately you will learn a lot of things about your nation that you will not like.

I'm going to tell you the things that your government and the politicians don't want you to focus upon.

A wise man once said to never declare that you have found the truth, but always that you have found a truth.  Amid the infinite shades of gray of my world lie truths you've never heard in the mainstream media.  You see, they don't always put these walls up just to keep us in.  Sometimes these walls are built to keep you out.

A man who was a supervisor over one of my family's corporate departments had a sign above his desk on the wall that said, "If you are too old to learn, you probably always were."  Shall I tweak your interest?  Here's an old wives tale you are familiar with.

What is the recidivism rate of sex offenders?  How many, what percentage, of convicted rapists commit a new rape after they are released from prison?  First Monday, the TV show about Supreme Court Justices, said 80%.  Another TV show, Law and Order:  Special Victims Unit, regularly states that "all" sex offenders commit new sex crimes.  However the United States Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Statistics, Sex Offenses and Offenders:  An Analysis of Data on Rape and Sexual Assault, Report No. NCJ-163392 on page 18 states that the recidivism rate of sex offenders for new sex crimes is 7.7%.  In fact, this is the second lowest rate of recidivism of all criminals.  The lowest rate of recidivism is for persons convicted of murder, i.e., 6.8%.  See also, U.S. v. Mound, 157 Federal Reporter 3rd Series, page 1153 at 1154, (8th Cir.) (en banc), opinion of four dissenting judges.  ( I spread the citation out for the novices.)

Now, what would you say if I told you that the U.S. Department of Justice also acknowledges that there are 173,000 innocent people in both Federal and State prisons in the United States?  Yeah, those statistics exist also.  8 to 12% state, and 4% federal.  Run that out over 2,000,000 prisoners on your calculator.

Come fly with me.  I'll show you a world as Gannett News Services never will.  I'll show you a world being hidden from you of deceit and lies.

Start with my article Once You Are Accused, and then progress to Civics: An Advanced Course Taught Only In Prison.

Am I bitter and cynical?  Yes.  Wouldn't you be if you found out that everything you had been taught since you could walk was a lie?  Wouldn't you be if you handed a Federal Judge absolute proof that you were innocent of the four consecutive life sentences you were convicted of, and he told you your proof was not "relevant?"

With all due respect, he must have me confused with someone else, I'll show him, and the whole damn world, what's "relevant."  An articulate and intelligent prisoner with unlimited financial backing from his family, and access to this forum is about to become as "relevant" as it gets.

My attorney, William R. Gallagher of Cincinnati, and I, are at our wits end over this.  He has access to additional proof of my innocence, which, because of the shear volume, is not posted at innocentinmates.org.  I will attempt to answer all letters and email (please include your address, I cannot send email), but please understand I am limited to buying 25 envelopes per week.  I also do a lot of legal work for men in here that cannot read and write well enough to file in the courts.  It may take me a few weeks to be able to respond to you.

Take care.  And remember, the best way to discredit a person is to place them in people's mind as the "Boy who cried wolf."  After all, "All prisoners say they are innocent," don't they?  Sorry, another old wives tale.  93% entered a plea of guilty.  My articles explain why that figure conflicts with the percentage of innocent stated above.

Write if you want.  I'm not looking for a pen pal or love.  I have plenty of both from people who know the truth about me and care.  I just want to throw some sand in the gears of this monstrosity called the Justice System and hope the sound it makes attracts attention.

Sincerely,
JIM LOVE
